If you are planning a ski trip look no further than Winter Park Resort in Colorado. Sure there all lot famous resorts here in Colorado that are household names across the United States, but these well-known resorts are plagued with crowded ski slopes and lift lines. Which is why Winter Park Resort is known as “Colorado’s Favorite”. Coloradoans frequent this ski resort more than any other in the state, due to the fact that it is one of the biggest resorts, with the most snow and fewest tourists. It also helps that it is only 67 miles from Denver.
Winter Park Resort is also the home of the legendary Mary Jane. Mary Jane was named as one of the top 5 resorts in North America for bump skiing according to Snow Country Magazine. It is not for the faint of heart, as there are no green runs anywhere on the “Jane”.
Parsons Bowl takes you above the clouds… and the tree line. The bowl offers intermediate to advanced ski runs, and happens to be a favorite of the locals. Once you get to the top you will be looking for your camera, and a warming hut.
Ski Magazine ranks the terrain parks & pipes of Winter Park Resort in the top 10 of the nation. The Railyard is one of the longest terrain parks in Colorado, and covers 15 acres over a 3,650 foot stretch of rail-grinding madness. For beginners there is the Jack Kendrick, which has extra wide rails and non-threatening jumps to help advance to the next level.
There are plenty of great restaurants and bars on the mountain, and like the lift lines, the crowds never seem to be a problem. You can also head to the actual town of Winter Park after the lifts close. It is a quaint little strip of restaurants, bars and shops. There is actually a very good sushi bar in town that often surprises people with its great food and reasonable prices.
Round off the day with a trip to the lighted tubing hill in Fraser. They provide a lift, warming hut and the tubes. And if you would like a day away from the slopes, you can enjoy a snowmobile tour up to the top of the Continental Divide, or get down right old fashioned and jump on a dog sled.

Find a hill with tons of snow and follow these simple instructions on how to build your own snowboard jump.
Here's What You Need To Do:
1. Find a location. Preferable somewhere that starts with a nice easy slope and then gets steeper, be sure there is enough run off room for your landing.
2. Break out the snow shovels, there is light weight ones available. Pile up the snow.
3. Snowboards can act as good scaffolding at the front of the jump.
4. Pack down the snow, your board will do best, just hang on to the bindings and start smoothing out with the base. If the hill is steep enough you shouldn’t need much of a lip.
5. Don’t forget the run in...Make sure you have a clean approach. There’s nothing like having to back out because the approach is too rough.
6. The test run. Usually the sucker friend (spends half the year in casts). Fine tune it until you are flying high!
Tips:
1. Try to hit from different spots and figure out the smoothest landing zone.
2. The best way to learn new tricks is by practice. Just keep hitting them and hitting them. Before you know it you’ll be pulling monster tricks.
3. These instructions are not recommended to use while in resorts as they usually have on hill jumps already built and regulated. Try to find a place away from those sorts of places.

The first decision is if you want the traditional strap-in boots or the newer step-in boots. If you decide to go for the step-in boots you will have to buy the bindings and boots together, this is because the strap-in boots will not work with the step-in binding. The trend at the moment seems to be softer boots with strap-in bindings.

No matter how much you have to spend on boots it is very important that you take time finding the best fitting boots. If you buy boots that are comfortable in the shop you will find aching feet on the slope. So find boots that are snug. Remember be patient. Different brands of boots suit different types of feet. So go forth and find your boots.
Trying On Boots...
Here are a few things to remember when trying on your boots. Firstly wear proper socks. Put on a boot and push your heel into the back of the boot to make sure that your foot is secure. Then tie the boots laces tight but not too tight. Then close the outer lining of the boot, repeat the process with the other boot. Attach the bindings and stand up. Notice how secure your feet are, move forwards and backwards making sure there is no rubbing that may cause you discomfort later on.

Heel Lift is when you lean forward in your boots and your heel lifts and not your snowboard. But this will be minimized if you find the best boots for your feet.
Inner Boots...
There are many advantages of having inner boots or lining, usually the inner boots can be laced like the outer boots, and they provide a little extra stability on the slope. You can take the inner boot out to dry after a long day snowboarding.

As you search for the perfect pair of boots you will notice that as the price for boots goes higher with the features. For example air-pumps. All you must remember is that these features are useless if the boots don?t fit you in the first place.
