The great Giro d’Italia

Posted on Sabtu, 30 Oktober 2010 | 0 komentar
Inspired by the Tour de France, the Giro d’Italia is a bicycle race frequently hosted at the Passo dello Stelvio, which is a mountain pass. The race takes 3 weeks to be completed.

The first Giro d’Italia race took place in 1909 in Milan, it was composed by 8 stages and a total of 2448km in length, and the winner was Luigi Ganna from Italy. Since then, only 3 competitors have won the cycling race more than one time, these are: Alfredo Binda, Fausto Coppi both from Italy and Eddy Merckx from Belgium.

A curious fact about Alfredo Binda is that due to his potential and incredible scores, many people thought it was better for him to be out of the competition, but in 1933 he won again.

The Giro d’Italia is considered one of the three Grand Tours and it became very popular because of the scenery where it is held. The Passo delle Stelvio is the highest pass in Italy situated in the Alps Retiche and it is part of the European history.

For 2006 the Giro d’Italia will have a total of 3.526,2 km in length and a total of 21 stages. The race will take place from May 6th to May 28th. The first stage will be held at the Belgium lands during the first days. Also, the competition has some kilometers that will be run in Austria and Switzerland.

Cycling fever is running on the streets and many fans are just waiting the next Giro d’Italia, one of the most awaited cycling competitions in the world.

Since when we don’t see a triple play!

Posted on Jumat, 29 Oktober 2010 | 0 komentar
Last Sunday the Chicago White Sox made the first triple play in the majors in more than a year, in the sixth inning of the game, winning 9-7 over the Minnesota Twins.

Some of the Chicago players worked very hard for the team as Jermaine Dye and A.J Pierzynski; the baseball team had been outscored 18-5 in two losses to start the four-game series.

With a 9-7 defeat, it seemed like the Twins were concentrated in the match when Nick Punto led off with a bunt single and Shannon Stewart walked. With the team's best hitter, and one of the AL's best bunters, at the plate in Luis Castillo, the Twins tried to move the runners over.

Punto and Stewart took off at the pitch, but Castillo made a bunt down the first-base line. White Sox first baseman Paul Konerko charged in and made a shoestring grasp then turned and threw to Tadahito Iguchi at first to get Stewart. Iguchi then fired to Juan Uribe to get Punto at second base.

But, all the Minnesota team efforts where just a waste of time because something unexpected and wonderful happened that night for the White Sox.

It was the first AL triple play since July 7, 2004, when the White Sox did it against the Angels. The Twins were tripled up for the first time since Sept. 8, 1996, also against the Angels. And in 2005 the St. Louis Cardinals made a triple play on May 5th against the San Diego Padres

Tragic Accident During the Indy Race

A tragic crash took away Paul Dana’s life during the Indy Race opening day at the Homestead-Miami Speedway last Sunday.

Ed Carpenter lost control and crashed his car against the wall and after some spinning ended up in the middle of the race track. Most of the drivers got to avoid hitting Carpenter’s car but Dana couldn’t. He crashed at an approximated speed of 200 miles an hour during the final warm up for the season–opening race.

Paul Dana who was 30 years old died just before noon. This was the first time Dana raced for the Rahal Letterman Racing Team. After the awful accident during the Toyota Indy 300 the other two teammates: Danicka Patrick and Buddy Rice wouldn’t participate in the race out of respect for Dana.

Carpenter suffered of a bruised lung, and was released from Jackson Memorial Hospital in Miami on Monday. According to a statement he is awake and alert.

What everybody is wondering now is why Dana didn’t see the signs. Yellow lights where there to let him know something was happening and he should be careful.

IRL President Brian Barnhart declared that even when the series didn’t call it an investigation, they are looking into the accident: this includes reviewing video of the incident, skid marks on the track and the cars involved.

How To Transport Your New Kayak? Get A Car Rack

Posted on Rabu, 27 Oktober 2010 | 0 komentar
Right after you buy a kayak, you'll find you also need to buy a car rack to carry it. There are three types of car racks to choose among.

People who are shopping for car racks notice right away that there are many to choose from. There are many ways to travel with your kayak on the roof of your vehicle. You want to choose the best one for your kayak and your vehicle. You want to be sure the system that you pick is reliable and suitable for your kayak's size.

All three types of kayak mountings are efficient, depending on the vehicle and the kayak.

Vertical Support System
The vertical support system normally goes on the rear of the vehicle and is usually used on vans or SUVs. The holder has upright poles and straps to keep the kayak in position.

Saddle System
The saddle system has four padded holders attached to the vehicle for the kayak to sit on. Straps wrap around the kayak to hold it fast.

Roller System
The roller system is similar to the saddle system except it has wheels that make loading and removing the kayak easier.

People usually travel with their kayaks on the roof. Each system works reliably with proper installation, and each system adjusts to the size of the kayak and works for all vehicles. So just choose one, put it on and hit the road and the water!

Florida Gators received on Monday their first NCAA Championship title after a basketball game played against UCLA Bruins which final score was 73 – 57. UCLA has already won 11 NCAA titles.

More than 43,000 fans were at the limit of their emotions cheering at their favorite team. Florida won the first 17 games of the season and then got better.

Joakim Noah, who took care of keeping Florida’s opponents away from the rim, jumped into a press table and after some Gator-like movements ran toward the crowd to hug his father and other members of his family. Noah’s father is the former French Open tennis champion Yannick Noah.

Joakim Noah or the outstanding player of the Final Four, as he was named, scored 16 points, nine rebounds and six blocks. With this, Noah has set a new record of blocked shots during an NCAA title game.

Corey Brewer, Taurean Green and Humphrey were also named for the All Final Four Team, joining Noah with this distinction.

The Gators were playing its second title game. They lost the first one against Michigan State in 2000. On the other hand the Bruins were trying to achieve their 12th title and increase their record of most national championships.

Neil Rackers and the Cardinals ready for 2006 season!

Posted on Sabtu, 23 Oktober 2010 | 0 komentar
Apparently the best season for Neil Rackers, who plays in the placekicker position for the Arizona Cardinals, was during 2005 when he connected on 40 of 42 field goals placing a new NFL record. Rackers received a trip to Hawaii for the 2005 Pro Bowl as his price. With this record he surpassed the previous one placed by Olindo Mare in 1999, a 39 mark.

Despite the Cardinals didn’t have a good season Rackers himself had a great one. Cardinals lost 5 games by seven points or less and missed the playoffs. After this resting stage Rackers had to get back to the training camp and get ready for this year’s season which he is expecting to be more exciting than last year’s.

Another fact that is good to mention regarding the Big Red’s preps is the acquisition of the running back Edgerrin James and the inauguration of the new Cardinals Stadium.

The football player has been working very hard to get the best of this coming season. Actually one of his goals is to surpass the 85%.

The opening game for the next Cardinals 2006 preseason will take place on August 12, at the brand new Stadium, where Rackers and the Big Red team will show their fans how prepared they are to achieve the Super Bowl title.

How to Make a Pinata

Posted on Jumat, 22 Oktober 2010 | 0 komentar
Pinatas are a common sight at parties where especially kids are invited. Making pinata is easy and all you need is a sturdy balloon (bigger the better), a big 8-10 inches dia PVC bowl, a cardboard sheet, glue tape, pile of old newspapers, the papier-mache paste (mix a half cup flour with 2 cups water in a bowl add the paste to boiling water and let the mixture come to boil again. Add little sugar allow to cool. The paste gets thickened with cooling), and paints for adding color and thread or PVC string.

Fill in the balloon with air and tightly knot it. Tear the old newspapers as streams of 1-foot long and 1-inch broad strips and pour the papier-mache paste on to the cut papers. Stick this mixture to the balloon and paste as layers on the balloon. Tie thread or string around it to make it strong and add another layer of mixture and give time to dry. Repeat till the structure becomes sturdy, after ensuring this make a small opening at the top such that it can be closed again. Now you can add colors and draw figures. Give detailing to the structures with paints. Add chips or color papers or beads or just about anything to make it attractive. Finally you add streamers of glazed paper run down from the balloon. After it is dry inside fill the pinata with child-friendly goodies and then close the opening with a cellophane tape. Watch tiny tots reach for it and the sight will remain fresh even after the party.

How to Build a Kite

Posted on Kamis, 21 Oktober 2010 | 0 komentar
Your Fast Guide to Kite-Building
Here is the easiest way to create your own fun, flyable kite.

GATHER some garden twine; scotch tape; a sheet of strong paper (about 102 x 102 cm,); two strong, straight wooden sticks about 90 and 102 cm and some colored markers.

MAKE A CROSS with the two sticks, with the larger one running vertically and the shorter one horizontally. Tie them together. Cut a notch at the ends of both sticks, deep enough for the string to fit into. Cut a piece of strong which is long enough to stretch all around the kite frame. Wrap the string around the frame, tying it a couple of times through all 4 notches. Complete by wrapping the string 4 times around the top. Cut off the excess. The frame should be tight without warping the sticks.

WITH THE PAPER laid flat, place the frame face down on top. Cut around it (Leave around 2 cm for a margin). Fold the edges over the frame and tape it down so the sail is tight. Cut a piece of string 120 cm long. Tie one end to the loop at the other end of the string to the loop at the bottom. Tie a small loop now in the string right above the intersection of the sticks. This will be the string to which you'll attach the flying line.

CREATE A TAIL: Do this by tying a small ribbon about every 10 cm on the length of string. Attach to the kite's bottom. Finish by coloring the entire kite!
Here your kite is ready to roar in the skies.

Patriotism is a Feeling Standing out in the World Baseball Classic

Posted on Rabu, 20 Oktober 2010 | 0 komentar
Dontrelle Willis is quite a professional baseball player; he has participated in the World Series, pitched in an All-Star Game and nearly won a Cy Young Award in his brief but brilliant career. But, he has still never played for his country, but that comes to an end when the Marlins pitcher will play with Team USA take the field against Mexico in a first-round game of the inaugural World Baseball Classic in Phoenix.

Playing for your country means a lot more than just playing. You have to play hard; you have to make the people feel proud that is why patriotism takes up on this World Baseball Classic event. Miguel Cabrera is another example of an MLB player who will be experiencing some of these feelings playing for his country, Venezuela, in its WBC debut this afternoon wondering what it would be to lead his home.

For all that patriotism, though, Cuba is one of the teams that is compromised to make a good show. Their history of three-time Olympic championships and 25-time World Cup wins clearly makes them the best amateur team, but they have never played a team of top professionals aside from a pair of exhibitions against the Baltimore Orioles seven years ago.

Dudek excluded from the 23 Man List for Poland’s National Team

Posted on Selasa, 19 Oktober 2010 | 0 komentar
The goalkeeper star from Liverpool, Jerzy Dudek was a shocking omission to the list of 23 men that coach Pawel Janas made on when he gave his picks for the 2006 World Cup squad that Poland is taking to Germany. Dudek has lost his place to Legia Warsaw‘s stopper Lukasz Fabianski and the coach said his lack of practice with the national team had piled up against him.

Dudek is a very good goal keeper; we can confirm that by reviewing his performance in last year’s Champions League Final when his penalty stops helped Liverpool beat AC Milan. The bad thing is he has played very few games with Poland and that has acted in favor of those who have been playing at club level.

Striker Tomasz Frankowski from the Wolverhampton Wanderers the team's top scorer in the qualifying marches, the center half and former captain Tomasz Klos were also left out. Instead, Janas selected Wisla Krakow striker Pawel Brozek and Krakow fullback Dariusz Dudka who have only a handful of friendly caps between them. The move makes sense when we come to think that these players were the heart of the qualification, and the qualification finished a year ago.

How to Build a Volcano

Posted on Minggu, 17 Oktober 2010 | 0 komentar
If you are looking to keep your kids engaged on a holiday, here's how. Teach them how to make a volcano. The results can be messy so be prepared to do the cleaning up once the volcano erupts. But you have the kids to help you out too. So you should look forward to some fun and excitement this afternoon.

If you have some play dough at home or you can buy from the store. You can make your own salt dough by mixing the play dough well. This will form the outer part of the volcano. You could also use a paper Mache technique which will make it stronger.

Get a soda bottle, 2 oz. and place in at the base. Build the volcano structure around the soda bottle. Be careful not to get any dirt at the mouth of the bottle. Mix a cup of water and dirt and then funnel it into the mouth of the bottle. Then pour some vinegar in. Stand back to watch the fun! Your volcano is made and you have made a big mess of things. But the children are happy, aren't they? And they clap in glee!
For a tip, you can decorate the exterior of the volcano if you wish to. But make sure it is dry before the eruption takes place. You can try adding diet coke and mint toffee to the vinegar to boost the eruption.

This messy thing is best done outdoor or in the kitchen where you can clean the floor properly. Warning, you have to go back as you start pouring the vinegar as the volcano will start erupting immediately.

Was Eriksson Tricked or Not?

Posted on Kamis, 14 Oktober 2010 | 0 komentar
England’s Soccer Team Coach Sven-Goran Eriksson, was caught making controversial revelations to an undercover journalist from the News of the World.

During this “interview”, Eriksson affirmed that in case England won the Soccer World Cup 2006, he would quit his job and find a new one managing the Aston Villa if they were taken over by a rich benefactor, even though he has a contract valid thru the year 2008.

As if that wasn’t enough, he also mentioned some names as David Beckham who according to Eriksson would return to play in the Premiership if he asked him to. The soccer coach also brought up that striker Michael Owen was unhappy at Newcastle, defender Rio Ferdinand was lazy and striker Wayne Rooney could have been a boxer like his father.

Two senior sources connected to the Football Association declared that if the revelations had emerged after the Soccer World Cup instead of before, the reaction would have been different.

Instead, Eriksson was asked to issue a statement and personally telephone the players involved.

Eriksson claims he has "no problem" with his soccer star players and insists he has not embarrassed them but his assistant Tord Grip admitted the expose had come as a shock to his fellow Swede.

The cro-magnum’s weight loss diet

Posted on Rabu, 13 Oktober 2010 | 0 komentar
Roughly 10,000 years ago the last Ice Age finished. Within a couple thousands years of the ice sheet retreating, farming started up again and new foods evolved to be the mainstay they are in today's weight loss diet. This new weight loss diet, called Neolithic, had an immediate effect on individual health. Skeletons of Neolithic farmers show poor nourishment compared to the previous generations of Neanderthals. They expired younger, were of less stature, had more holes in their smaller amount of teeth and showed the first indication of fatness in need of weight loss.

The problem with the new weight loss diet of the Neolithic period was that we didn't advance to gobble those new foods. The diminutive persons’ digestive territory is exclusive among primates. We have no more than one stomach and a comparatively short large intestine. We are more well-matched to digesting and extracting nutrients from animal protein, fruit, nuts, and some vegetables.

Early civilizations also were more active. By running and lifting heavy objects every day you will build muscle and lose weight. Today we call this exercising vs just surviving in those days.

Out of the pole sitter Jamie McMurray got off course and spun in turn two of the very first lap. Then Kenny Schrader spun later that same lap and took a hard hit from Sterling Marlin. This situation brought a red flag condition while crews cleaned up the mess.

On lap four they went back to green flag racing. Kurt Busch advanced cleanly and took the head quite early. Ryan Newman and Kevin Harvick were second and third.

Robby Gordon, Boris Said and Mark Martin made up the next three spots. Tony Stewart and Jeff Gordon were both fighting in the track early in the race.

Phillies Ticket at Face Value

Posted on Minggu, 10 Oktober 2010 | 0 komentar
On opening day for the Philadelphia Phillies, my wife and I were anxious to attend but we did not have tickets.

The night before the game, we decided to arrive at the ballpark early with a cooler full of tailgating food and drink, and try to find a scalper that would give us a deal on some good seats.

Much to our surprise, there was not a scalper in sight. Very strange for the city of Philadelphia. Like twilight zone strange.

I said to my wife, why don’t I just try the ticket office? Maybe they have some standing room only tickets.

She told me it was a waste of my time because the game was sold out, which it was.

I said what have we got to lose? So I went to the ticket window to see if I could get some Phillies tickets at face value.

And sure enough I did. I didn’t even have to settle for standing room only. We got two tickets in the outfield and got to watch the Phillies lose in the cold and rain.

I was just happy that I was able to get my Phillies tickets at face value and not have to pay a ridiculous amount of money to a scalper.

Gun Safes - How They Can Help You

Posted on Sabtu, 09 Oktober 2010 | 0 komentar
A good gun safe can protect your guns from thieves and unwanted people, and probably, the cost of buying the safe will be much less as compared to the cost of replacement, in case your guns are stolen.

Gun safes of the best quality are generally made out of solid steel. However, there are different kinds of steel available in the market. You should always opt for thicker steel and of higher quality, because better the quality of the safe, higher is the protection. There are some cons about thick steel as well- drilling a safe made out of thick steel to the ground, or the wall is much more difficult as compared to lower quality safes, because of the quality of the steel.

You can purchase gun safes from any store that sells guns. You can also find many gun safes on the Internet. Most online stores will ship anywhere in Canada and the United States. You might get a great deal if you purchase the safe from a wholesaler directly, and even if you have to bear the shipping costs, it will be much cheaper than the full/original price of the gun safe at a retail outlet. You may still get a cheaper cost than if you bought the safe at full price.

Boating can be a very relaxing pastime

Posted on Rabu, 06 Oktober 2010 | 0 komentar
Boating can be a very relaxing pastime, floating along on a river or lake without a care. For most people, the boating itself is the whole point of the hobby: once you’re in the boat, you’re set.

Many people bring their boat to wherever they are going to go boating on a trailer attached to the back of their car, provided the boat is small enough – larger boats have to be kept in marinas, which can be expensive. Even today, plenty of people still build their own boats out of nothing more than wood, nails and ingenuity.

There are many different kinds of boats, from the very small to the very large. The smallest boats are those designed to be rowed effectively by one person, followed by family-sized small boats. Most people who are into boating tend to have been boating with their family, especially their father, and take their own family along because they have such fond memories.

Once you get above quite small boats, you start to get into powerboats (also known as speedboats and motorboats). They start off as only just too large to row, but can go as large as 50 feet long with cabins and large engines – in other words, you can get powerboats about as big as a car and about as big as a lorry.

While boating is fun, however, it is also a hobby where you need to pay a lot of attention to safety. Too many boaters die each year, mainly by falling overboard and drowning. It is important that you use common sense as well as making sure to comply with the relevant safety laws, especially by always taking lifejackets with you.

Of course, boating isn’t entirely limited to just cruising around. You can also set up water-skis on the back of your boat and go water-skiing, or even enter boat races, if you think you’re fast enough. Boat Launching Tips For The Beginning Boater

Preparing For Boat Launch
When it comes to launching a boat your entire success depends on how well you’re prepared. Everyone will benefit if you take the time to prepare your boat before you even reach the ramp.

You should conduct an inspection of your boat prior to using it since there is always the possibility of damage or failure on the hull. Then, before backing down the ramp you should raise your outdrive or outboard motor and remove all tie-down straps and binders. It is also important to make sure that the boat winch is engaged and that it is attached to the eyebolt on the bow of your boat.

While waiting in line to launch your boat take the time to check your fuel level, vital fluids and make sure all your safety equipment is on board. Make sure the drain plug is installed, without the drain plug you won’t be going very far in your boat.

Once it’s your turn to launch it would be a good idea to have a partner so the entire process can go smoother. It’s best to have one person down the ramp while another holds a pre-attached line to help guide the boat off the trailer. It’s also a good idea to have someone in the boat so they can drive it away from the trailer after it’s in the water.

Backing The Trailer Up

One of the hardest parts of launching a boat is reversing with a trailer. To do this you should first position your vehicle and trailer in as straight a line as you can manage and stay about a trailer’s length from the place where you are going to reverse to. While you slowly reverse, keep your eyes on the trailer from the driver’s window, then start turning the steering wheel to the right slightly.

To steer gently and progressively you should grab the wheel at the bottom, this makes it easier to add more steering to correct after turning too much. Grabbing at the bottom will also prevent you from over-turning the wheel. It also provides you with an excellent reference point without having to look, you always know that at the lowest point your wheels will be straight again.

Once you notice the trailer start to turn then you should straighten slightly while reversing. The trailer will jack-knife if you straighten too late or move the wheel too quickly. Soon you will be steering in the opposite direction while reversing. Have the front of the vehicle follow the trailer and watch where the trailer is in case you need to make corrections.

Look in both mirrors and continue to reverse in a straight line. Back up carefully and slowly. If you notice more of the trailer in one mirror then steer towards that side in order to get the trailer to move the other way. When correcting only use small steering movements.

You can also move forward to straighten the trailer if needed. Be sure to practice some at home until you are confident with your ability so that you won’t have to learn the hard way at the ramp while people wait in line behind you.

Launching Your Boat

When launching your boat there are a few simple suggestions you should follow to make it easy and simple. Make sure you observe the direction signage. Keep the rear wheels of your tow vehicle out of the water, which means you are also keeping the exhaust pipes out of the water.

Immersing the exhaust pipes in water may cause the engine to stall. Make sure you set the parking brake and have the transmission in park. Start the boat motor to make sure water is passing through the engine cooling system and that there are no fuel leaks.

Once the boat operator is ready you can release the winch and disconnect the winch line from the bow. By now your boat should easily launch with a simple shove or just by backing off the trailer under power.

As soon as you launch your boat return your towing vehicle and trailer to the parking lot so the next person can launch. If there is any final loading required you can do that at the transient mooring float so that you aren’t in anyone’s way.

5. Spread little mortar on the brick and lay horizontally along the outer edge of the cinder block.

6. Tap them into place towards the perimeter. Scrap off any excess mortar. Keep the wall of the pit even.

9 All Time Great Cricketers

Posted on Jumat, 01 Oktober 2010 | 0 komentar
Throughout the history of cricket there have been those that were special, who were slightly different to their fellow cricketers and made the crowd sit up whenever they arrived on the pitch. Of course every game has its heroes and cricket is no exception. And every nation has its own cricketing legends that they believe were better than those of other teams. This article will introduce you to 9 of the world's great cricketers from past and present.

Imran Kahn was a great Pakistani cricketer who played at the highest level for over twenty years from his debut in 1971. He was a great all rounder who led the Pakistan team to their first world cup just before he retired. Always elegant in both action and speech he was one of the best all-rounders that the game has ever had. He is now a politician in Pakistan and the leader of a major political party. He played in 88 tests with a batting average of 37.69. He took 362 wickets with an excellent bowling average of 22.81.

Shane Warne is an Australian spin bowler who is one of, if not the, greatest spin bowler the game has ever seen. He was born in 1969 in Victoria and has played test cricket since 1990, retiring in 2007. He has taken more test wickets than any other player in history. He was also the first player to take more than 600 test wickets. He played in 140 tests and has taken 685 wickets with a bowling average of 25.25.

Gary Sobers was a highly talented cricketer who was born in Barbados in 1936. He played 93 tests for the West Indies and scored an impressive 8032 runs. He had a batting average of 57.78. He was also a very good slow left arm bowler, taking 235 test wickets, with an average of 34.03. He is best known for being the first batsman ever to score six sixes in one over in 1968 in a first class cricket match while playing for Notts against Glamorgan.

Ian Botham was a great English all-rounder. He was the scourge of bowlers with his prodigious batting ability and he was just as adept as a fast medium paced bowler. He was born in Cheshire in 1955 and played mainly for Somerset. He was very much a true all rounder as he was as good at bowling as batting. He played in 102 test matches and scored 5200 runs, with an average of 33.34 and he took 383 wickets with an average of 28.40.

WG Grace is thought by many to be the most influential cricketer the game has ever seen. He was born in 1848 at a time when cricket was not the massive sport that it is today. He is one of the reasons, with his great batting ability, that cricket became so popular. When he was out first ball at a match once, he refused to go telling the umpire that, "the crowd are here to watch me bat and not to watch you umpire!". There were not many test matches then so he played only 22 and scored 1098 runs with an average of 32.29. He took 9 wickets with an average of 26.22. This average is low even though he was playing into his late fifties!

Allan Border was born in 1955 in Sydney and was Australian captain. He still has the world record for the greatest number of uninterrupted test matches. He also had the record, at the time, for the most runs in test matches at 11174 in 156 tests. He was also one of the most prolific hitters of centuries with 27 in test matches. He also took 39 wickets with an average of 39.10.

Shaun Pollock is a South African medium fast bowler who is well known for his accuracy and reliability. He is also a very good batsman who has scored over 3406 runs in 100 test matches with an average of 31.24. He has taken 395 wickets at an average of 23.25. He is South Africa's most prodigious wicket taker in both one day international and test matches.

Viv Richards is one of the all time greats of West Indian cricket. He was a very successful captain to one of the best West Indian sides ever. He was a powerful batsman and scored an average of 50.23, scoring 8450 runs in 121 matches. He only lost 8 matches in the 50 that he captained.

Don Bradman was born in 1908 in New South Wales and was not only the best Australian but is thought, by many, to be the best batsman of all time. His batting skill was so good that the England cricket team in the 1928-1929 tests resorted to bowling at the batsmen rather than the wickets in order to try to win. This was known as the bodyline series. The dispute from this was so bad that it nearly caused a diplomatic dispute between England and Australia. He played in 52 tests and scored 6996 runs so he had an incredible average of 99.94. These statistics make him the best batsman ever.
